University of Film and Media, Doncaster

About This Project

The University of Film & Media is a 55-acre site. It comprises a Listed 17th century Country House, a listed stable block and parish church. In addition, there are two Scheduled Ancient Monuments set within a mature parkland. The masterplan proposes a mixed use solution for the site. The Hall is restored and extended to become a hotel. The stable block becomes a restaurant. New uses such as the University’s digital campus associated with film, a cinema and a spa are clustered around the hall to create a “village green” or social heart space.

Within the rest of the park we will be inserting a range of film studios, while also discreetly inserting small scale but high end residential development into the extensive woodlands. The intention is to create a major new Film facility bring high quality jobs, while respecting the extremely sensitive historic site.
