Tower Pavilion, Skegness

About This Project

Frank Shaw Associates was commissioned by Skegness Town Council to design a new, multi-function community building for Tower Gardens just off Skegness’ seafront. The Council required a contemporary and economically viable building to replace the current  Pavilion. The design houses new tea rooms, a heritage centre, tourist information, community enterprise units, a large function room, lettable offices and Council accommodation as well as the nursery currently on site. The design focuses on the adjacent park and is centred on a large, light filled welcome space. It responds its surroundings, whilst fulfilling the brief for viable and vibrant community building.

Our feasibility work included an analysis of the existing derelict Tower Gardens Pavilion, however fitness for purpose and structural issues proved too difficult to overcome.
