The BSF follow on project to Springwell Community College, Netherthorpe School involves the complex knitting together of existing and new buildings to re-invigorate and re-focus the Academy.
The refurbishment of a series of existing buildings, including a former 16th century listed Grammar School and architecturally significant buildings from the early 20th century, has been enhanced by obviously contemporary additions which respect and add to the Academy’s long history.
The success of this strategy is expressed by the Head teacher:-
‘All works knit together perfectly with the existing buildings. The three walls by the entrance are the crowning glory of what is an amazing piece of work.’
