The Kirkley community health campus master-plan project was developed by NHS Great Yarmouth and Waveney Clinical Commissioning Group (HealthEast) in partnership with East Coast Community Healthcare and NHS Property Services.
Phase 1 of a new £6m state-of-the-art integrated Health Centre complex; accommodates NHS clinics run by East Coast Community Healthcare (ECCH) relocated from the old Lowestoft Hospital site; two GP Practices and social care and mental health staff.
Among the first patients attending a routine podiatry appointment was Janet Smith from Lowestoft. She said: “It looks really nice, it’s better than Lowestoft Hospital, it’s really spacious, lovely.”
Andy Evans, Chief Executive at HealthEast, said: “I am absolutely delighted to see the CCG’s plans for improving care and services in Lowestoft come to fruition with the opening of this impressive new facility. Lowestoft residents won’t only be receiving care from state of the art facilities, they are also now starting to get 21st century quality care with the introduction of integrated services, some of which are delivered 24 hours a day right through the week.”
