History

Established in 1972, Frank Shaw Associates was incorporated as a limited company in 1991. Our main office remains in Chesterfield; however in 1990 an additional office was opened in Cambridge, and in 2019 in Leeds. Founded on the basis of education and healthcare we have expanded to cover other public sector and commercial projects.

Since our creation we have grown steadily in terms of staff numbers and turnover. We currently have 31 staff, including 11 Registered Architects and a further 7 Architectural Technologists. Our turnover has risen to £2.4 million last year. We pride ourselves on a highly experienced and dedicated workforce.

We pioneered locally the use of Computer Aided Design in the early 1980s, and remain at the leading edge, operating BIM authoring (Revit), BIM federation/co-ordination (Navisworks) and visualisation (Lumion) software alongside conventional graphics presentation and administrative software.

To complement our traditional architectural role we offer integrated or separate services if required, covering master planning and interior design.
